Gel/SLA and AGM batteries are used on wheelchairs, disabled equipment, marine and leisure applications.
Due to the expense of GEL, SLA and AGM batteries for caravan, motorhome, canal/narrow boat, motorboat, motor cruiser, yachts etc. starting and auxiliary/leisure battery banks we would recommend sticking to wet cell deep cycle batteries (see our XEL and Exide ranges) where possible unless the non-spillable aspect of the GEL, SLA or AGM range is crucial. GEL, SLA and AGM batteries will provide more cycles, but this must be weighed up against the initial cost. GEL, SLA and AGM batteries are ideally suited to renewable energy applications.
Exide Maxxima batteries are available in two different variations. Choose either the Exide Maxxima 900 for starting applications that need an awful lot of oomph! Or choose the Exide Maxxima 900 DC (deep cycle) for starting and the additional advantage of a deep cycle capability for audio/auxiliary equipment and leisure and marine/boat applications. Due to Exide's Orbital Grid Technology the Maxxima range can deliver over twice as much power than a conventional battery of equivalent size. Both battery types are totally non-spillable and will not leak even if the battery casing is pierced or broken.
