How to fit a battery to your vehicle safely
* Most car battery base hold down lips are approximately 10mm high. Some vehicles use a base hold down lip of approximately 19mm (mainly older Volkswagen models) for which an adapter can be supplied.

Saving the radio/computer code
We would normally use a "Code Saver" which keeps the system live via a connection through the vehicle cigar lighter, or a fused donor battery pack.
However, the code can be saved by attaching jump leads from a donor battery (or battery/power pack) to your vehicles battery terminals (positive donor to positive your vehicle and negative to negative). Ensure that you have attached the jump leads to bare metal and that when the battery terminals are removed the clips will not spring off. Also, make sure the leads/clips do not touch each other, or any other bare metal surface when removing the battery and fitting the new one (it may be advisable to get someone to help you at this point by holding the battery leads clear).
If the code is already lost most main dealers will be able to supply with the code from the vehicle registration, although they may charge for this service.
Tips on how to keep your battery in tip-top condition
What the battery warranty covers
Your battery is guaranteed not to fail due to faulty materials or workmanship for that battery type's specified warranty period.
If you suspect there may be a fault with a battery you (the purchaser) bought from us (Bush Batteries) within its warranty period you must return the battery carriage paid, in good physical condition and properly packaged (we can advise on this). When we receive the battery we will need 48 hours in which to test the battery and recharge if necessary. We cannot accept any responsibility for customer returns damaged in transit. Neither will we be held responsible for any costs incurred by you during the battery testing period.
If we find a fault with the battery we will dispatch a new one after the 48 hour testing time has elapsed. For batteries that fail during the first 6 months of the warranty period we will dispatch a replacement free of carriage costs. For batteries that fail after the first 6 months we will dispatch a replacement at our current carriage cost rate.
If we cannot find a fault your battery will be returned to you fully charged. Our carriage costs and a £5 testing/recharging fee must be paid by you in advance of dispatch.
